The management of the Russian Volleyball top team Zenit Kazan decided to pay tribute to their longtime player Matt Anderson.
In fact, they retired the No.1 jersey of the American outside hitter prior to Game 1 of the 2018/19 Superliga semifinals against Fakel Novy Urengoy.
Anderson, who will play for Azimut Leo Shoes Modena in Italy next season, spent the last seven years as part of Zenit during which he made more than 270 presences and won 18 trophies.
He still has a chance to win two more titles with the Kazan team: Zenit are currently competing in the national championship playoff semifinals but also in 2019 CEV Champions League final in Berlin.
