Marko Podrascanin, interviewed by srpskainfo.com, spoke about the upcoming Olympic qualification that, with his Serbia, will have to play in Italy in Bari against Italy, Australia and Cameroon.
We know it will be a difficult tournament, but we want to get the tickets for the Tokyo Olympic Games in all ways. Since we missed the last Olympics, for our team the Bari tournament is the most important event of the season. We will have to face and beat Cameroon, Australia and Italy, which plays at home and do everything to achieve the goal. The challenge with them will be the crucial one for the qualification. We have failed the one for Rio and we do not want to repeat ourselves. It is true there will be another chance in January through the continental tournament, but that will be much more difficult.”

Moreover, the serbian Middleblocker recalled the match of the 2018 World Cup, the one in which Serbia beat Italy 3-0 to Turin eliminating it from the race for medals. “That day we played a perfect match and we know we will have to repeat ourselves. That game showed us that we can beat Italy even at home: if we won then why should we not succeed even now? It will not be easy, but we have shown that we know how to do it and I am sure that we will be able to repeat ourselves.”
