USA takes 3 setters and one libero to Qualification Tournament

1 min read

The U.S national team head coach John Speraw revealed his 14-player to compete in the FIVB Volleyball International Qualifier for the 2020 Olympic Games (August 9-11).
The U.S. national team will play Pool B in Rotterdam against the hosts of the Netherlands, Belgium and South Korea. They are the clear favorite in the pool and will open their competition tomorrow at 19:00 C.E.T. against Belgium.

Since there is only one libero on the roster, Speraw will have to register one more player on this position prior to each match. He took 3 players whose designated position is the setter, but one of them can also play as an outside hitter, Micah Ma’a.

The USA national team:

Matt Anderson (Opp), Aaron Russell (OH), Taylor Sander (OH), Jeff Jendryk (MB), Mitch Stahl (MB), Kawika Shoji (S), Micah Christenson (S), Max Holt (MB), Ben Patch (Opp), Micah Ma’a (S), Thomas Jaeschke (OH), Garrett Muagututia (OH), David Smith (MB), Erik Shoji (L).
