A new start for the MEVZA League 2019/20
1 min readThe Austrian reigning champion SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob hosted on Wednesday, 7 August in Bleiburg the meeting between MEVZA’s executives and team representatives of the clubs participating in the upcoming season of MEVZA League.
So MEVZA’s President, Karl Hanzl, Vice President, Zdeslav Barac, and the newly appointed Secretary General, Ivan Iro, also appointed as the league’s Competition Director, presented this year’s format.
Eight (8) men teams from four countries and seven (7) women teams representing three countries will compete in a double round robin format (each team playing every other team home and away), concluded by a final four.
Men’s opening round is set for 4.-7. October The Final Four locations will be decided after the matches results by the end of October. However, the Final Four dates were already announced and, for male competition, will be played on 7.-8. March 2020.
