Eurovolley Pool D: Poland down Netherlands in striking atmosphere in Rotterdam, Czech Republic win vs. Estonia!

The world champions of Poland destroy co-hosts, the Netherlands, in Pool D in front of 11,000 spectators in a sold out Ahoy in Rotterdam. So, the team coached by Vital Heynen recorded their second victory in as many games, leaving rivals at less than 20 points in any of the three sets: 3-0 (25:19, 25:18, 25:19). Wilfredo Leรณn was the top scorer of Poland with 12 points, while Maciej Muzaj set up 4 winning blocks and Michaล‚ Kubiak made 84% reception (19 digs, 58% excellent). Nimir Abdel-Aziz was the best scorer in the Dutch team with 19 points.

In the very important match between Czech Republic and Estonia, the Czechs managed to take a fantastic 3-0 victory. After losing their opening match against Ukraine, this is the first victory for the team coached by Michal Nekola. Estonia, supported by thousands of loyal fans just as Friday and Saturday, is still waiting for their first victory in pool D. In the thrilling second and third set, it was Jan Hadrava who made the difference with his well-timed service aces (6 in total). He was also the top scorer of the match with 23 points.
