1 min read

Multiple German volleyball Championship winners Berlin Recycling Volleys filled the first gap in the position of a middle blocker for the next season by signing the 2016 Rio Olympics champion Éder Carbonera. The 36-year-old Brazilian player came to the Bundesliga powerhouse from his home country, Sesi-SP, in which he spent the last two seasons.

Éder, who has been wearing the jersey of the Brazil National Team since 2007, has a lot of trophies in his collection. For example, he won the FIVB Club World Championship two times, Brazilian Championship seven times, and South American Club Championship three times. Individually, he was named Best Middle Blocker of the Brazilian Championship twice and last season he took this award in the Copa Libertadores.

Berlin parted says with three middle blockers from the last season: Frenchman Nicolas Le Goff (Montpellier, France), Georg Klein, and American Jeffrey Jendryk (Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, Poland).
