China: victory for Shangai, Beijing and Fujian

Another 3 matches of the Chinese men’s championship were played this morning (resumed yesterday after a 7-month break): victories for Shanghai (Pool A), Beijing (Pool B) and Fujian (Pool D).
The competition will be held on an accelerated schedule and practically matches will be played every day.
Today, in Round 2, three teams noted straight-set victories. Led by Zhang Binglong, author of 18 points, Beijing redeemed for a surprising loss in the previous round and beat Guangdong by a 25:23, 25:19, 25:18. Fujian and Shanghai were successful today, too. Shandong and Bayi didn’t play their match as the latter withdrew from the competition.

Formula: 1st phase (January 19, and August 20/22) with 13 teams divided into 4 pools. The best 2 teams from each pool qualify for the quarter-finals. Semi-finals on August 29. Final 1st-2nd place best-of-3 games (August 31, September 1, September 2).
