For Ried, second victory in as many matches! After the win against Amstetten a week ago, SG UVC Weberzeile Ried / Innkreis celebrated an away success over TJ Sokol Vienna V in the only Saturday match of DenizBank AG VL, winning in straight sets, partially 25:18, 29:27, 26:24. The top scorer of the match was a home player, Clemens Ecker who made 19 points, while Niklas Stooß and Tomasz Rutecki scored 9 for the winners. Too many errors for Sokol (35:21) who who fails to repeat the good performance as in the match against Weiz last week.

In the other match of weekend, VBC TLC Weiz clinched the first victory in their 2020/21 DenizBank AG VL campaign. One week after the surprisingly clear home defeat against TJ Sokol Wien V, the team coached by Michael Murauer won the Styrian duel with newcomers TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg, 3-1 (25:23, 25:15, 24:26, 25:17). In the third set, the hosts wasted three match points, but they were impressive with aces (15, against three of Hartberg). Sebastian Schweighofer with 17 points and Jakob Grasserbauer with 15 top-scored for the winners, while Matthias Glatz tallied 14 on the other side of the net.
