Turkey: Ziraat break 15-game winning streak of Fenerbahçe, victory also for Spor Toto and Altekma

Ziraat Bankkart stood one the way of the gigantic winning streak of Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta in the 2020/21 Turkish AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi regular season. Thus, Fenerbahçe suffered the first defeat in three months. During that period, they won 15 successive games in the competition. That streak came to an end in a delayed match of the 16th round against Ziraat. The Ankara side prevailed in straight sets (25:22, 31:29, 25:16), mostly thanks to the Dutchman Wouter Ter Maat (24 points; 4 aces; 70 % attack), and extended their own winning streak to 11 games.
On the other matches played today, Spor Toto with 22 points by Brazilian Leonardo Nascimento ‘Leozinho’ prolonged their series of wins to five games after beating Tokat Bld. Plevne in five sets in a delayed match of the 6th round, while Altekma wins at home in straight sets over Haliliye in recovery match of Round 16.
