Poland: Stal Nysa stage huge upset by beating Jastrz臋bski, Gda艅sk down Be艂chat贸w

Stal Nysa staged a huge upset in Round 20 of the 2020/21 Polish Plusliga regular season.
After downing PGE Skra Be艂chat贸w earlier, newcomers beat Jastrz臋bski W臋giel by a 3-1 (18:25, 25:18, 25:18, 25:23), ending the rival鈥檚 winning streak that consisted of five games.
Three points scored against the vice-leaders brought the team coached by Krzysztof Stelmach closer to securing their survival in the competition. This was the first duel between these two teams since 2005, given that Stal Nysa hasn鈥檛 been a member of the Polish club elite since then. Tunisian Wassim Ben Tara top-scored the winners with 20 points, while 艁ukasz 艁apszy艅ski made 4 blocks.

In a match filled with emotions, Trefl Gda艅sk prevailed over PGE Skra Be艂chat贸w in four sets. For the first time ever in the Polish top division, Mariusz Wlaz艂y played against Belchatow, his former team for which he competed for 17 years. Before the match, an amazing ceremony took place: officials of the club from Be艂chat贸w handed gifts to Wlaz艂y, while his jersey No. 2 was raised under the roof of the Skra hall and will be retired from now on.
Bart艂omiej Lipi艅ski highlighted the winners, who got tied with Jastrz臋bski at 36 points, scoring 24 points and 5 blocks.
