France: Cambrai defeats Tours. Tie break wins also for Cannes and Nantes, three points for Toulouse and Narbonne
1 min read
Round 21 of French Ligue A was completed last night.
In the key match the newcomers Cambrai defeated 3-2 in a comeback from 0-2 the remodeled Tours who, without Wounembaina and the injured Petrus and Udrys, unexpectedly lined up Pablo Ventura opposite. For the hosts, unbeaten after the Christmas break and now third in the standings, Villard’s entry from the bench (15 points, 75% in attack 1 block and 2 aces) in place of Yago was decisive.
Two more games ended with the same result, after five sets: Cannes, second in the standings, won against a very combative Séte (Photogallery of the match here), and
Nantes surprisingly defeated Poitiers by taking 2 very important points for salvation, as Ajaccio was defeated 3-1 in Narbonne and is now at -5.
The playoffs for Paris Volley become far far away: they were sensationally defeated at home in just 3 sets by Toulouse (which confirms Larrieu in place of the injured Faure in the role of opposite).
