Turkey: also after Round 29, Playoffs and relegations still uncertain!

2 min read

Due to the several matches still to be recovered one Round before the end of the regular season, the verdicts for both play off and relegation zone of the Turkish Efelerligi have not yet been defined. 5 teams remain in the running for the 4 places for playoffs: Fenerbahce (currently stopped by the coronavirus) and Ziraat (who yesterday won 3-1 against IstanbuI BBSK) should have no problem winning the last 2 games, while to miss the goal will be one between Halkbank (who is confirmed in great shape by winning 3-0 over Haliliye, but will not be able to afford to loss the last match against Galatasaray), Arkas (currently fifth in the standings, but who yesterday has won 3-0 against Altekma and with 2 affordable matches on the horizon) and Galatasaray (who in addition to today’s postponement will have to win at least one match against Halkbank and Ziraat).
Spor Toto has been mathematically out since yesterday, for whom the tie-break success at Afyon is not enough to hope again.
In the queue the 3 teams remain to be defined that will relegate together with last-placed Arhavi (today 0-3 against Sorgun who thus secured salvation).
At risk 5 teams: one step to salvation but still postponed for Tokat (today defeated at the tie-break by Solhan Spor who thus celebrates salvation), Afyon, Bursa BBSK and Haliliye while only mathematics keeps Istanbul BBSK running which does not seem have realistic chances of exiting the relegation zone.
