Dinamo Moscow have confirmed the place in the final of the CEV Cup 2020/2021 season beating Montpellier on the road in straight sets (25:23, 25:22, 25:10).
After 3-1 in Russia, this result just confirmed that Dinamo was the favorite compared to the French team, as they scored some good results in the European competitions this season. Sam Deroo was the top scorer of the game with 12 points, while Yaroslav Podlesnykh also contributed with 10 points. On the other side, Joachim Panou and Joseph Sclater ended the game with 11 points each.
Konstantin Brianskii, head coach of Dinamo Moscow stated: “We are very happy about this victory and this qualification in the #CEVCupM final. Montpellier is a great team, but tonight we were stronger.”
Olivier Lecat, head coach of Montpellier Castelnau Volley: “It is with great regret that we lose the match tonight. However, I believe that we did our best. There were times when the team showed its best game. Participating in the CEVCupM was a great experience.”
Recall that Zenit St. Petersburg managed to reach the finals yesterday, after a dramatic game in Belgium, where they had to play a golden set. And so the final will be All-Russian! The battles for the CEV Cup Gold will take place with home and away matches scheduled for March 16 and March 23, respectively.
