Austria: no upsets in quarterfinals Game 2. All series are closed.

The semi-final pairings of DenizBank AG VL are SK Zadruga Aich/Dob vs. VCA Amstetten NÖ and UVC Holding Graz vs. Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel.
The reigning champions beat VBC TLC Weiz 3-0 (25:20, 25:18, 25:18) in their home court on Saturday evening, Amstetten beat SG UVC Weberzeile Ried / Innkreis in four sets (11:25, 25:18 , 25:21, 25:22), while Graz literally destroyed VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt with a convincing 3-0 (25:21, 25:19, 25:18) at home. Waldviertel wins 3-1 (25:13, 23:25, 25:18, 25:14) on the field of Sokol Wien, and the semifinals start is next Saturday.

In details, heavily favorite Aich/Dob did not give a single set in the second quarter-final duel with a combative Weiz, especially in first set. Top scorers of the march were Arvydas Miseikis (19) and Sergej Drobnic (11) for the winners, while Michael Pekar (13) and Sebastian Schweighofer (9) for Weiz.

AlsocAmstetten have already made everything clear in the second duel against Ried. After a bad start and the loss of the first set, they defeated the rivals to claim semifinal ticket. Top scorers of the match were Eduardo Romay (22), Paraskevas Tselios and Fabian Kriener (13 each) for Amstetten, while Niklas Stooß (16) and George Hobern (13) on the other side of the net.

Also Union Waldviertel lived up to their role as favorites, despite the absence of starting setter Bartoš, out due an ankle injured since Mevza League Bronze medal match last weekend. But, in any case, they gave away only one set.

Today, however, the VBK Wörther-See-Löwen given no chance and the hosts confidently closed the serie. Top scorers of the match were Tiago Pereira (11), Johannes Kratz and Mark Kremer (10 each) for the hosts, and Simon Frühbauer (11) and David Petschnig (8) for Klagenfurt.
