Brazil: Last of regular season. Relegation for Caramuru, Funvic beats the second lines of Sada Cruzeiro and the others.

2 min read

The last round of regular season of the Superliga was played on the European night.
No surprises in the relegation fight: Caramuru was overwhelmed by Volei Renata Campinas (back in full force) and relegated, while Sesi SP was saved, and also gained another point on the field of Guarulhos (after touching the victory in 4 sets).
Also the positions from fifth to eighth place were then defined: Blumenau beat last-placed Ribeirao 3-0 and kept fifth position in front of Uberlandia (who recovered the opposing Daniel Pinho), who climbed to sixth position thanks to the success on the field of Itapetininga which thus closes in eighth place. Seventh is Montes Claros, defeated 3-1 by Minas (during the match the second opposite of Minas Lucas Figueiredo went out due to injury).
Finally, in the match between the top two in the charts, Sada Cruzeiro showed up without the 7 starters and without the second opposite Oppenkoski, and so Funvic Taubaté (on much higher levels than in the last game) easily won in straight sets. On the field also the 16-year-old Maicon dos Santos, 215cm tall outside-hitter (for the occasion lined up opposite). To officially close the regular season, the recovery match between Funvic and Sesi SP remains to be played, but the result will in any case be irrelevant.
