Italy: Perugia destroy Milano in Game 3 to progress to semifinals!

1 min read

Sir Safety Conad Perugia fully redeemed for the bad start of the 2020/21 Italian Superlega Credem Banca playoffs and secured a place in the semifinals.
The top-seed showed their full strength in Game 3 of the quarterfinals against no.8 Allianz Milano. After losing Game 1 and suffering in Game 2, the team coached by Vital Heynen beat rivals in a decider with great authority: 3-0 (25:14, 25:23, 25:22).
The Dutchman Thijs Ter Horst, also deservedly named MVP of the match top-scored the winning side with 19 points, including 4 aces and 2 winning blocks, while Milano struggled a lot in attack, especially in first set, ended with only 17% in this fundamental. Only Urnaut reached a double digit performance, with 14 points.
In the semifinals, Perugia will face the 4th-seed Vero Volley Monza, who yesterday celebrated a historic qualification for semifinal by beating Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia in five sets.
