France: Poitiers last qualified for the playoffs. Cannes second, Narbonne third. Tours, temporarily, fourth.
1 min readIn Round 26, the last of the French Ligue A regular season, Poitiers made no mistake and, by beating Nice in straight sets, was the last to qualify for the playoffs, making Séte’s victory at Toulouse in vain.
Cannes comes back on the field of Paris and win in four sets, thus retaining second place in the standings, while Narbonne remains third, despite a 3-0 victory against Tourcoing.
The picture closes with the 3-0 of Tours (now provisionally at fourth place) over the already relegated Ajaccio.
The match between Chaumont (with two COVID cases) and Nantes, and the match between Cambrai (team that faced Chaumont last weekend) and Montpellier, which seems to have already decided not to show up for the match, have been postponed to Tuesday: probably a defeat is on the way together with 3 points of penalty which, however, would not compromise the first place in the standings.
Playoffs will started from next weekend: with the exception (perhaps) for the final, there will be no possibility of postponements and whoever should be stopped by the coronavirus is destined to a defeat without playing.
