Poland: Jastrzębski Węgiel and Skra Bełchatów to playoffs semifinals, Warszawa tie series vs Trefl Gdańsk

Jastrzębski Węgiel became the first team to advance to the playoff semifinals of the 2020/21 Polish PlusLiga. The regular-season vice-champions Jastrzębski Węgiel won their semifinal series against the 7th-seed Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. After sweeping rivals in the first game of the quarterfinals, in which both teams showed nervous performance, Jastrzębski downed the rivals in 4 sets in Game 2, partially 24:26, 25:18, 25:23, 25:22.

On the last Saturday match, No.6 VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa tied the series against 3rd-seed Trefl Gdańsk. The team from Polish capital prevailed in the tie-break. Bartosz Kwolek tallied 24 points including 4 blocks for Warszawa, while Belgian Igor Grobelny (15 points) stood out in reception (73%, 26 digs, 35% perfect).
