Italy: Trentino out! Lube Civitanova and Perugia will fight for Scudetto for 3rd season in row! Verona defeats Padova in playoffs for 5th place

Cucine Lube Civitanova won the semifinal series of the 2020/21 Italian SuperLega Credem Banca playoffs against Itas Trentino and thus, for the 3rd time in a row, Lube and Sir Safety Conad Perugia will play for the Scudetto.
The reigning champions and 2nd-seed reached the playoff finals of the thanks to the victory in semifinal Game 4 over no.3 Itas Trentino: 3-0 (25:19, 25:23, 25:23). Thus, Lube turned around the series from 0-1 to 3-1 and will play for the championship title for the 4th season in a row.
At the end of the match, the numbers reward Lube from the service line (7-4), in attack (54% vs 49%) and in blocking (9-8), Trento better in reception (51% vs 50% positives, 33% vs. 25% perfect), but also higher in errors (21-17). MVP of the match is Lube’s captain Juantorena, author of 15 points with 52% in attack, 2 aces and 2 blocks. 17 points for Simon (71% in attack, 5 blocks and 2 ace), 12 for Rychlicki (56%, 1 block and 1 ace, but 5 blocks suffered). The best scorer for Trento is Lucarelli with 12 points (63% and 2 aces). 11 points also for Abdel Aziz who, however, struggles to put the ball down, and ends the match with 36% in attack.
The playoff finals set off on April 14.

On the other match played today, valid as advance of Round 4 for playoffs for 5th place, a very good NBV Verona defeated Kioene Padova in straight sets, partially 25:19, 25:20, 25:22. Bulgarian Matey Kaziyski was once again the most prominent player for the winners with 15 points, but MVP award went to the setter, Luca Spirito.
