1 min read

Russian powerhouse Zenit-Kazan welcomed back Aleksey Verbov.
The 39-year-old expert has become the successor of Vladimir Alekno, and he already commanded the play of the Kazan team in the 2019/20 season, having Alekno himself as a consultant. After that, the young coach took over the helm of Kuzbass.
The upcoming season will be Verbov’s 9th in Zenit. For seven seasons (2009/10, 2013-2019) he defended the colors of the club as a libero, playing 238 matches and winning 20 trophies with it (3 victories in the CEV Champions League, 6 Russian Championship titles, 6 Russian Cups, 4 Super Cups and 1 victory at the FIVB Club World Championship).
As a head coach, he brought Zenit another title, the 2019 Russian Cup.
