Slovenia: Gasparini ends his national team career

1 min read

The player who collected the most appearances of the Slovenia Volleyball National Team (206) Mitja Gasparini, said goodbye to his international career.
And the head coach Alberto Giuliani has already been informed about a decision of a 37-year-old opposite.
The last act of his long and rich international path was Slovenia’s debut performance in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League this summer.
However, we will not see him at the upcoming CEV European Championships.

With his country’s national team, he won the 2015 CEV European League and played the two entrances to the final at the EuroVolley (2015 and 2019). On a club level, he won 4 Slovenian Championships, 3 Slovenian Cups, one French Championship, and one Korean Championship.
Among numerous individual awards, he claimed the Best Server award in the Italian Championship twice, and MVP of the Korean Championship twice and Slovenian Championship once, last season, which he spent in Calcit Volley.
