Italy: defending champions Lube defeat Padova in advance of Round 1. De Cecco MVP

The 78th Italian volleyball championship debuted on Saturday at the Kioene Arena in Padova, in a match that saw the hosts face the defending champions Cucine Lube Civitanova, in front of 1336 fans.
Easy victory for the guests, despite Padova trying, especially from the service line.
Despite this, the level of Civitanova remains significantly higher and allows guests to lead the game, winning the match without lot of problems.

Percentages and play clearly higher those of the winners which, with 9 blocks to 1, manages to make the difference under the net. Even 55% attack efficiency, compared to 45%, and 45% to 35% positive reception are clear.
In serving, the aces are the same: 8-8, but Padova makes 17 errors, giving more than half a set to a team, which would not have needed favors anyway.
Juantorena and Simon were the most prolific players for Lube with 13 and 11 points respectively, despite MVP of the day was setter De Cecco, while Linus Weber made 13 on the other side of the net.
