Italy: Taranto and Padova win advances of Round 2

Newcomers Gioiella Prisma Taranto Volley take the first win of the season in Italian Superlega Credem Banca regular season, by defeating Consar RCM Ravenna on the road with a clear straight sets win (18:25; 22:25; 19:25).
Excellent team performance for the winners, led by the young Libero Gabriele Laurenzano and the outside-hitter Luigi Randazzo, top scorer with 14 points. Klapwijk, with 17 points, was the top scorer of the match in Ravenna’s jersey.

First victory of the season also for Kione Padova, who wins in four sets (22:25, 22:25, 25:19, 22:25) on the field of a disappointing Top Volley Cisterna which, after the foreseeable ko on Round 1 on the field of Perugia, also loses the first at home in what apparently was a direct confrontation.
