ACH Volley Ljubljana won both two MEVZA League matches in Slovakia this week: on Tuesday evening, the defending champions gave no chance to VKP Bratislava (25:18, 25:20, 25:16) and, on the following day, they needed four sets (25:19, 25:17, 20:25, 25:21) to defeats also TJ Spartak Myjava.
As a result, ACH Volley is sharing the lead in the current standing with compratriots OK Merkur Maribor, with twelve points each.
Slovenia’s national champions celebrated a 3-1 (25:23, 23:25, 25:14, 25:19) win in Austria, on the field
of Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel.
And both slovenian teams, Ach Volley and Merkur MARIBOR, have won all of their matches in this MEVZA League season so far.
Later that evening SK Zadruga AICH/DOB defeats hosts OK Calcit Kaminik in 111 minutes by 3-2 (25:21, 22:25, 25:17, 22:25, 15:12), a victory that takes the former MEVZA League winners up to the third place of the charts with five points from two matches they have played so far.
“Of course, we are not satisfied with the result and we were trying for more, but AICH/DOB deserve praise for the game. It is true that there were only nine of them, but they came with the first lineup. They came here to fight and in the end they got what they were looking for,” said Matija Plesko, head coach of Calcit Volley.
