Turkey: Arkas without losing a single set even after four rounds, all favorites win

Round 4 had no surprises in 2021/22 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi: 3 points as expected for the favorites Cizre, Fenerbahce, Halkbank, Arkas, Spor Toto, Ziraat Bankasi and Galatasaray.

Arkas Spor are at the forefront of the unbeaten trio, and they destroyed Altekma just as same as they destroyed past three rivals in competition before that – in straight sets. Turkish prospect Efe Mandıracı top-scored the Izmir side today with 17 points through 71% attack (12/17, one error, blocked once) including five blocks, but Mustafa Cengiz was even better in blocking, with six, and Caner Dengin made 76% reception (17 digs, one error, 18% perfect).

About the other matches, a powerful serving display of Cuban Salvador Hidalgo (seven aces and 23 points in total) pushed Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta over Bingöl Solhan Spor (3-1).
Halkbank had to work hard to defeat Tokat Bld. Plevne (3-1) and they did it mostly thanks to Serbian Božidar Vučićević and Yiğit Gülmezoğlu (both scored 16 points), but also thanks to Mustafa Koç, who sets up six winning blocks.
Wouter Ter Maat (30 points and six aces) dominated the court in Mardin where his Ziraat Bankkart visited Yeni Kızıltepe Spor and took a 3-1 victory. Faik Samed Güneş also contributed with six winning blocks.
Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, led by Burutay Subaşı with 19 points, Vahit Emre Savaş five blocks, and Croatian Marko Sedlaček 74% attack, put an end to the surprising unbeaten run of Sorgun Bld.
Spor Toto Ankara defeats Bursa B.Sehir Bld. by 1-3 (14:25, 13:25, 25:20, 19:25) on the road while, on Saturday, Cizre Bld. defeats Avsar Maden Suyu Afyon Bld. Yuntas in straight sets.
