Austria Cup: Defending champion Aich/Dob falls in the round of 16 against Waldviertel!
1 min readUnion Raiffeisen Waldviertel take last ticket for Austrian Volley Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday evening, winning the big match against defending champions SK Zadruga Aich/Dob on their home soil after a thrilling match lasted five sets: 3-2 (22:25, 27:25, 35:37, 25:19, 15:8).
The guests had a 1-2 lead in set, but Waldviertel was able to made an amazing comeback to win a game lasted about two and a half hour! Top scorers in this exciting marathon were Daan Streutker (23) and Marek Sulc (20) among the winners, and Audrius Knasas (14) and Jani Jeliazkov (24), for Aich/Dob. Both team made 13 winning blocks, while Waldviertel made one more ace (5 vs. 4), and they were better also in attack.
