Brazil: all results of Round 6 – Sesi SP stun Sada Cruzeiro

2 min read

Round 6 of Superliga was played (and completed) on the European night.
The news of the day is the sensational home defeat of Sada Cruzeiro against Sesi SP in what was, in fact, the last test for the club world championship (in the next two games before the competition, they will play against modest Uberlandia and Goias).
The team of coach Filipe (rather confusing in the management of team changes) offered a decidedly negative performance: the diagonal Cachopa-Wallace in difficulty (40% in attack and 13% efficiency), also replaced by Rhendrick and Oppenkoski (-9% efficiency. in attack). Not even the Cuban Lopez (45% in attack, but 19% efficiency with 6 blocks suffered, 0 aces and 5 errors in serving) played well, while Rodriguinho was at half service and was deployed only in the final (0/5 in attack). An evening to remember instead for the host team who, despite having wasted an advantage of 10-16 and 22-24 in the second set, did not let themselves be discouraged, and dominated the final part of the match, led by MVP Darlan (27 points, 61% in attack and 39% efficiency, 2 blocks and 2 aces), and thanks to a great performance in blocking (16). Minas remains at the top of the standings who, despite losing William after a few exchanges (calf problems) beat Brasilia 3-1 in a comeback, struggling a lot in the first 3 sets.
On the other matches, another win for Renata Campinas: 3-0 on the field of Guarulhos, to whom Franco’s return is not enough to snatch even a single set. Victories also for Blumenau over Montes Claros, Funvic over Uberlandia and Sao José over Goias.
