2 min read

Three matches valid for Plusliga Round 8 were played on Saturday.
In big match, Jastrzębski Węgiel (without Szymura, Szwed and Biniek) was surprisingly defeat at tie break by Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, despite great second and fourth sets, but also due bad day by Boyer (35% in attack 0% efficiency, replaced by Hadrava in last two sets) and a wasted 15-10 lead in third set, closed with an ace by Konarski (good also in attack, with 58% and 32% efficiency). For the guests, who in fifth set made the decisive break thanks to Zniszczol’s block over Hadrava (12-14), MVP was Conte with 21 points, 59% in attack and 41% efficiency) while Kovacevic, author of the last point, closed the game with 16 points (42% in attack and 24% efficiency).

Jastrzebski thus fall to -5 from Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle who, on the other hand, easily defeat Ślepsk Malow Suwałki in straight sets. ZAKSA is the only undefeated team in PlusLiga thus far, as they won the ninth league match this season, maintaining the invincibility in head-to-head encounters. Łukasz Kaczmarek top-scored the Kędzierzyn-Koźle club with 16 points (71% attack).

In evening match, Indykpol Olsztyn made a 3x 23-25 to Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom, thanks to excellent Butryn (23 points, 58% in attack and 42% efficiency and MVP award) and DeFalco (16 points, 58% in attack and 42% efficiency), despite lot of errors (27 vs. 17). The winners recorded the sixth successive triumph, definitely presenting the revelation of the season in Poland.
