Italy: Modena record 9th win in row to climb to third place, Perugia alone at top! Three points also for Cisterna

Leo Shoes PerkinElmer Modena beat Gioiella Prisma Taranto in Round 12 of 2021/22 Italian Superlega Credem Banca to continue to climb the standings.
Taranto started the game with extra gear to take the first set.
However, after a hard-fought second set in which they prevailed with only a two-point advantage, Andrea Giani’s side showed their real power and clinched three points which pushed them up from the fifth to third position in the current charts. Modena’s winning streak now consists of nine games, six in Superlega, nine counting all competition. The Frenchman Earvin Ngapeth (with also 70% reception with 20 digs and 45% perfect) and Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz scored 21 points each on the winning side, while Daniele Mazzone set up four blocks.

By beating Vero volley Monza in four sets, Sir Safety Conad Perugia isolated themselves at the top of the standings, having three points more than Cucine Lube Civitanova (31-28), who had a day off today.

Top Volley Cisterna ended their losing streak of three games as they swept Consar RCM Ravenna, who remain alone at the bottom of charts…
