Poland: Zawiercie (still without setter) and Resovia ko. Victory for Gdańsk, Radom and Katowice

2 min read

Three matches of Plusliga Round 19 were played today.

Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom stunned Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, who failed to move up to 3rd place in the standings, in another match without setters Tavares and Cavanna, both injured.
However, unlike Aluron’s previous couple of rivals, Radom took advantage of the fact that the Zawiercie side again appointed the Serb Uroš Kovačević as a setter and prevailed in straight sets, escaping the second-to-last position in the standings.
Paweł Rusin top-scored Radom with 17 points through 79% attack (15/19) and was deservedly named MVP of the match, while Austrian Alexander Berger made 71% reception (28 digs, 2 errors, 21% perfect).
In addition, Aluron suffered a bad day of Conte, who ended the match with only two points and -25% efficiency in attack.

On the evening match, tie break win for Katowice against Lubin, with Quiroga MVP of the match while, in advance of Round 23, Trefl Gdansk surprisingly defeat with the same result Asseco Resovia Rzeszow.
In the decisive set, Resovia recover from 12-8 to 13-13, but a block from MVP Kampa over Deroo closed at first match point.
