Poland: Sensation in PlusLiga! second-to-last Czarni Radom inflict first seasonal defeat to ZAKSA! Warszawa back to the win

Two recovery matches valid for 2021/22 Plusliga Round 15 were played today.

Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, which played in front of their own audience, lost to Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom 1-3.
So far unbeaten in the league with an impressive 17-0, the vice-champion was a definite favorite of the match against these rivals, which was the penultimate in the table prior to the encounter.
Moreover, the Kędzierzyn-Koźle side recently won the Polish Cup and advanced to the semi-finals of the CEV Champions League, as their rivals Dinamo Moscow were excluded from the tournament by the CEV’s decision.
ZAKSA, however, maintained the leading position on the current charts, now with an equal number of points as Jastrzębski Węgiel (49), having played two games less than the vice-leaders. Paweł Rusin was Czarni’s top scorer today with 20 points, while The Dutchman Michaël Parkinson made 71% attack (10/14).
Initially coach Cretu left Janusz, Sliwka and Smith at rest. Resounding the 19-25 in fourth set, as ZAKSA played basically with their usual starting six!

On the other match, by beating Cuprum Lubin in 4 sets, the bronze medalists Projekt Warszawa put an end to their losing streak that consisted of 6 games. Decisive the comeback in third set from 22-19 to 23-25.
