Poland: ZAKSA down Aluron in big match to redeem for shocking defeat in previous round. Victory also for Warszawa and Jastrzebski

2 min read

Other three matches valid for 2021/22 Plusliga Round 22 were played today.

Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle defeated Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in a match full of emotions (and missed opportunities) for the latter.
Even though it ended in 3 sets, the encounter between the leading ZAKSA and 4th-placed Aluron was probably one of the best games of the season as both sides showed excellent defenses, blocks, and great attacks. In the end, ZAKSA prevailed 3-0, but the result doesn’t reflect the high level of the encounter as the Kędzierzyn-Koźle took all sets with a 2-point margin, redeeming for a shocking defeat from 3 days ago.
The great performance of Conte
(26 points, 66% and 51% efficiency in attack and 3 aces) was canceled by the one of Kovacevic (43% and 10% efficiency in attack). For ZAKSA very good play of MVP Janusz, while in attack Łukasz Kaczmarek was the most prolific player with 16 points, and middle blocker Huber made 100% in attack (9/9).

In second match of the day Projekt Warszawa, without Nowakowski, celebrated their second win a row by beating Slepsk Malow Suwalki in four sets, taking advantage from good performance of Petkovic and Kwolek.
In the evening Jastrzebski Wegiel defeat GKS Katowice, but only at tie break, despite the 2-0 lead.
In fourth set two the match points failed from the hosts, with Hadrava again on the field in place of Boyer, not at his best.
MVP of the match Fornal, who ended the game with 24 points and an excellent 68% and 62% efficiency in attack.
