Champions League: Trento defeat Berlin and take the first step toward semifinals

Trentino Itas have opened the CEV Champions League quarterfinals in a victorious way, by beating the German side BR Volleys 3-0 (27:25, 25:19, 25:22).
The home team had a lot of difficulties only in the first set while, in another two sets, the German team has given resistance but it was not enough to take any set.
At the end of the match, numbers tell about a Trento better in blocking (8-5), in attack (53%-51%) and in reception, both positive (65%-44%) and perfect (20%-17%).
MVP of the match Lisinac, author of 11 points, 69% in attack, 1 block and 1 ace. 13 points for Michieletto
(55% in attack, 1 block), 11 for Kaziyski (45% in attack and 2 blocks) including the last three that closed the game.
On the other side of the net, the best is middle-blocker Jendryk, author of 11 points, with 87% in attack, 3 blocks and 1 ace.

We were able not to think of the absence of Lavia and we managed to play a good volleyball especially in the first set and a half. With this result, we know we got the possibility to play the golden set in Germany, and it’s no small thing“.

Cedric Enard, Head Coach of Berlin: “The first set was the crucial one to arrive here in this first quarter-final. Both teams deserved to win this one, but we missed our chance. You have to take that chance at this level among the best eight in Europe. After that it became difficult because Trentino put a lot of pressure on us. Today, 0:3 is on the scoreboard, but this quarter-final has a second chapter. The very special atmosphere in the Max-Schmeling-Halle will give our team the necessary push for an exciting second leg.”
