Italy: Trento last semifinalist! Piacenza defeated in straight sets in quarterfinal Game 3

1 min read

Summary of today’s quarterfinal Game 3: Trentino too strong for Piacenza.

For No.3 Itas Trentino, in fact, 3 sets were enough to beat No.6 Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in a decider of the 2021/22 Italian Superlega Credem Banca playoff quarter-final.
A victory that was worth a promotion to their 14th semi-final of the Italian championship.
The winners also recovered Matey Kaziyski after the injury he sustained in the CEV Champions League semi-final rematch against Sir Safety Conad Perugia to conquer the decisive challenge against Piacenza (2-1 in the series) and complete the post-season’s Top-4 composition.

After a very close first set, Angelo Lorenzetti’s side dominated the remaining two, with Alessandro Michieletto (MVP of the match with also 6 aces through 22 serves and only one error) and Daniele Lavia top scorers with 14 points each, and Serbian Srećko Lisinac who set up 5 blocks.
