Austria: Graz defeat Amstetten to close the season at third place!

The second game for third place of Austrian Volley League has been played today. After a clear straight sets win in Game 1, the dethroned champions UVC Holding Graz defeated VCA Amstetten NÖ again in their Raiffeisen Sportpark, this time after a thrilling 3-2 (24:26, 25:22, 25:18, 21:25, 23:21) and thus they secured the bronze medal. Top scorers of the match were Lorenz Rössl, absolute top scorer of the match with 30 points, 1 block and 52% in attack, and Sergej Drobnic (18 points, 3 winning blocks and 50% in attack) for the winners, while Aleksandar Veselinovic (24 points) and Srdan Vracaric (14) on the other side of the net.

About the Grand Finale, Game 2 of best-of-seven series between Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel (who won Game 1 last Wednesday by 3-1) and SK Zadruga Aich/Dob will take place on Easter Sunday in JUFA Arena in Bleiburg.

And what about relegation round?
The game between TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg and Raiffeisen VC Wolfurt scheduled today was canceled and thus ended 3-0 for the Styrians, who now have the stay in the league in their pockets. Hypo Tirol volleyball team scored an important victory against hotVolleys Wien, with a clear 3-0 (25:16, 25:17, 25:20) and they are only one point behind the second in the charts. On Saturday afternoon, the two teams will meet again in the USI hall.
