It’s official, this year’s Volleyball Nations League Finals will be played at the Unipol Arena of Bologna, Italy!
The top eight teams in the preliminaries will meet in the northern Italian city for a final fight that will determine the champion.
Italy has hosted tournaments in both men’s and women’s competitions since the VNL’s inception in 2018, however, this will be the first time Bologna serves as a host.
The quarterfinals and semifinals will take place on July 20 and 21, followed by the finals on July 23. On July 24, the bronze medal match and the final will take place.
Hosts Italy, of course, will be keen to do well in front of their fans, but they will not have it easy.
The 16 teams set to participate in the 2022 VNL will also include reigning champions Brazil, Olympic champions France, world champions Poland, and twelve more countries all aiming to add their names to the competition’s top list.
Historically, Russia won the first two editions of the VNL by defeating France in Lille and USA in Chicago.
And Brazil were victorious against Poland in the final in Rimini in 2021….
