Russia: Dinamo Moscow rule Superliga for second year in a row. Lokomotiv collapsed at tie break! Third place for Zenit Kazan

Dinamo Moscow defeated Lokomotiv in 5 sets in the final of the 2021/22 Superliga Paribet (Š”уŠæŠµŃ€Š»ŠøŠ³Š° ŠŸŠ°Ń€ŠøŠ±ŠµŃ‚ ŠœŃƒŠ¶Ń‡ŠøŠ½Ń‹) to defend the national title. After 2h31 of battle Novosibirsk, who yesterday stunned favorite Zenit Kazan, collapsed at tie break (26:24, 23:25, 25:20, 20:25, 15:9) in which the team from country’s capital was absolutely better from the service line as well as in counterattack. The fate of all sets, with the exception of the last one, was resolved at the very finish but in the tie-break, however, Dinamo take advantage from numerous errors of the rivals, to reach 5-1, soon 8-3, and put an end to this season in Russia.

Top scorer Podlesnykh with 19 points, 65% and 43% efficiency in attack, 4 aces, but also 5 errora in reception with only 3% perfect. To the good 58% of team performance in attack (and 41% efficiency) also contributed Sokolov (17 points, 56% and 41% efficiency in attack) and Bogdan (16 pointa, 52% and 38% efficiency in attack).
On the other side of the net great performance for Luburic, who ended the game with 26 points, 66% and 59% efficiency in attack, 2 blocks and 5 aces), but Konstantinov’s side suffered the errors (!!!) from the service line (5 in decisive tiebreak) and the bad day of Savin (10 points, 32% and 10% efficiency in attack, 6 errors in reception and 7 in serving without aces).
The Dinamo setter Pavel Pankov was awarded as the MVP of the finals, and his team won the 4th championship title in the post-Soviet era, the 9th including the league of the former state.

Moscow take the lead with counterattack by Podlesnykh (2-0) and Bogdan (4-1). Luburic shortens the distances (4-3), but Podlesnykh from the service line propitiate the counterattack by Sokolov (6-3), a slash by Bogdan (7-3) and the counterattack of Belogortchev after a long action (8-3). Abaev recover a break with the ace of 8-5, but Sokolov put down the ball of 10-5. Middle-blocker makes it up with the aces of 11-8 and 11-9, and another ace, the one of Luburic, level the score 12-12. After a counterattack by Sokolov confirmed from videocheck, 14-12, Luburic reply with 2 points in a row (14-14).
Then Moscow escape with two aces in a row by Podlesnykh, 18-15, but Novosibirsk don’t give und back to -1 with a monster block by Lyzik: 18-17. Set closes 26-24.

Second set, and first break with the Podlesnykh’s ace on Perrin (4-3), who then attacks out, 5-3. Pankov is the author of the ace of 8-5, but Bogdan’s attack out give the 12-13 to Novosibirsk. Moscow take the lead again with a block on Savin (17-16). Novosibirsk however level the score again with Perrin, 19-19, and Chereiskiy closes the free ball of 20-21. Counterattack by Perrin after a defense on Sokolov (20-22), and the error by Bogdan from the service line close the set, 23-25.

Third set: to Podlesnykh’s counterattack (3-1), reply an ace by Perrin, 5-5. Ace also for Luburic ?(7-8), but the team from country’s capital regain the led with Podlesnykh (9-8). Setter Pankov attacks out (11-12) and the ace by Abaev is worth 11-13. Ace also for Pankov on Savin (14-14), then Luburic attacks out (15-14) and Bogdan put down the counterattack after a defense on Savin: 16-14. Sokolov’s winning block on Savin is worth 18-15 and this time Novosibirsk is no able to react. Luburic sends out the ball of 22-18 and, at first set point with Pankov in serving, Savin is blocked: 25-20.

Fourth set, and Luburic put down the
counterattack of 1-2 and even an ace (1-3). Bogdan level the score, 5-5, but Novosibirsk escapes with a block on Sokolov (7-10) and a counterattakc by Luburic (7-11).
Moscow take advantage from the error of Kurkaev (10-12) and a winning block by Belogortchev on Savin (11-
12), but Novosibirsk escape again with another block this time on Bogdan (14-18).
On the field Semyshev, but sends out the ball of 15-20. Luburic, putting down the ball of 20-25, sends everyone to tie break!

In decisive set, great start for Moscow with a counterattack by
Podlesnykh after a good serve of Sokolov (2-0), and then Savin attacks out: 3-0. Ace by Podlesnykh (5-1) and counterattack by Likhosherstov after a defense on Luburic send them to +5: 7-2. Tie break one-sided, counterattack by
Sokolov, 10-4 and ace by Bogdan for the 11-4. Luburic’s ace is useless, as Belogortchev makes another break
by blocking Kurkaev (14-7). Savin and Perrin cancel 2 match points, but then the error in serving by Kazachenkov close the match. 15-9.

After resounding defeat in semifinal yesterday, Zenit Kazan redeem in final for third place leaving only 52 points (19:25, 19:25, 14:25) to Zenit Saint Petersburg who left Poletaev at rest.
This result supposedly is worth qualification to the next edition of CEV Champions League, if the Russian
were to take part in the competition.
