Silver European League: Gold for Romania! Finland defeated at tie break. Bronze for North Macedonia

Romania win 2022 CEV Silver European League! In grand finale, they defeated Finland after a thrilling tie break. Partially it was 25:17, 21:25, 25:20, 23:25 and 13:15.
The first set was almost perfect for Finland, and they’ve managed to make a good advantage (12-7 and even 18-12, to end with a clear 25:17).
In the second set, Romania reacted with three aces (of 12 at the end of the match) while the rivals had only one (4 in total). It was played point-by-point until the 15-17, and Romania managed to keep the lead up until the end of the set, ended 21-25.
In the third set Finland was better again: after the 5-5 they escape until 12-5, a lead that remain until the end of the set, finished with 25-20.
Finland seemed confident in their game also in the fourth set and it even seemed as if they are going to close the match. They’ve had a three-point lead, but Romania leveled the score at 20-20 and the whole game changed: they managed to take the lead and with 23-25 they’ve taken this set which meant that the fifth and final set will declare the winners!
At tie break Romania defeated the debutant of this competition and with three winning blocks became the new champions!
Captain Cristian Bartha was named MVP of the match.

Earlier, 2021 runner-up North Macedonia defeated final four hosts Hungary at tie break (25:22, 18:25, 25:15, 19:25, 15:7) to take Bronze Medal.
