VNL 2022: Three points for France, Japan and Italy in last matches of Pool 3 in Quezon City

France settles at top of chart after Week 2 in the closing of the second week of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League!
The Olympic champions earned their seventh victory in the competition. They had the role of a favorite against Germany, and a setback in the third set didn’t stand in their way of beating rivals and claiming the top spot in the current standings. 1-3 was the final result, partially 16:25, 19:25, 25:19 and 21:25.
Earvin Ngapeth was the top scorer of the match with 18 points, with 16 attacks and two blocks. He scored also the final point in the first set with a mostern block against Germany’s Tobias Brand.
Opposite Stephen Boyer also contributed with 16 points, while opposite Linus Weber was the top scorer for Germany with 16 points, including one ace and one block.

“We started really well with our serving and everything else,” said Yacine Louati, author of 11 points in this game. “We had issues in the third set, I think our bodies started to feel the fourth match in the week, but we were still able to come back in the fourth set. We’re very happy with what we did here. We’re training a lot and preparing to be in our best shape at the VNL Finals and sometimes it’s not easy to do that and perform well in matches at the same time. We’re fortunate to have an excellent roster and we’ve been able to keep a good level of play no matter who is on the court.”

In the second match of the day, Japan redeemed itself from the bad yesterday’s defeat against France by beating Slovenia by 3-1 (25:21, 22:25, 25:18, 25:19).

Close the pictury the easy win, as predicted, of Italy over China. The match ended with a clear 3-0 (25:21, 25:18, 25:19).
