Coach Gido Vermeulen leaves post in Egypt National Team after only 3 months!

The collaboration of Gido Vermeulen and the Egyptian Volleyball Federation, Evbfegypt, ended after only three months, and they had, basically one of the shortest volleyball collaborations in history of this sport!

The Dutch expert was appointed the African country’s men’s national team head coach in May and now he left the post, explaining his reasons on Twitter.

“With pain in my heart I’m forced to leave the position of head coach of the National Volleyball Team of Egypt due to a serious different opinion with the Federation of the selection of the team and selecting the players’ lists for the tournaments,” he posted.

Interestingly, this was his second term as Egypt Men head coach as he was in charge between 2019 and 2020….
