In a meeting with the Brazilian federation (CBV), the Superliga clubs participating in the next edition of both menâs and womenâs Brazilian Championships make an unanimous decision: a single-game final to determine the new titleholders.
Actually, it was a series of meetings at the CBV headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, last week, after which the officials of the 24 participants of the next countryâs national championship agreed to unify, after voting, the regulation for the new title format.
It was the condition of TV Globo to broadcast the two finals. In the last edition of the Superliga, the menâs playoff finals between Sada Cruzeiro and Fiat/Gerdau/Minas were broadcast by this TV network.
As for Dentil Praia Clube vs ItambĂ© Minas, in the female category, it wasnât.
Over the years the Superliga finals have taken place in several formats: best-of-five games, best-of-three, sometimes in a neutral venue, other times in a venue of one of the participating teams, and there were also seasons when the final was played in a single game!
For 2022-23, CBV will determine the court for matches of the finals, four to five months before.
