One of the best rising stars of Iran Men’s Volleyball National Team Amirhossein Esfandiar strengthened Ural Ufa.
The 23-year-old outside hitter was one of the leaders of his country’s national team in the last FIVB Volleyball Nations League, scoring 131 points in 12 matches.
However, in the recently concluded FIVB World Championship, he was a backup player in his position to Ebadipour and Sharifi.
His height of 2.09m made him stand out in youth categories, the level of volleyball in which he competed up until three years ago.
He was also named MVP of the 2019 FIVB U21 World Championship.
Last season, he wore the jersey of a club in his homeland, Labanyat Haraz Amol, but playing in Russia won’t be his first overseas adventure as he was a player of Belgium’s powerhouse VC Greenyeard Maaseik in season 2020/21.
