France: three points for Chaumont - Tours defeated in four sets!

Second Round of Ligue A 2022/23 continues with another match played on Friday, in which a great Chaumont prevailed in four sets (20:25, 19:25, 25:23, 16:25) on the field of Tours.
With two wins in as many games so far, the winners temporarily takes the lead in the current standings.

In a big match of French volleyball between two sides which have monopolized three of the last five titles, the players around coach Silvano Prandi were absolutely better than the rivals, putting them under pressure, with great performances above all in attack (60% in total) and in blocking, with 11 points from this element.
Patrik Indra (10 points, 2 winning blocks and 62% in attack), Pierre Toledo (14 points, 1 ace, 1 block and 86% in attack, 12/14) and middle blocker Patrick Gasman (14 points too, 3 aces, 2 blocks and 64% in attack), were the top scorers on the winning side.
About Tours, the hosts struggled a lot, relying mainly on the arm of Brazilian Drame Neto, who ended the game as top scorer with 16 points (1 ace and 52% in attack).
However, with the only exception of third set, they lacked aggressiveness in a match in which also the video challenge was ineffective, and inevitably generated some tense situations. After a hard-fought success in Nice at the start of the season (2-3), Tours still has a lot of work to do to find their perfect shape and, on this day, Chaumont eloquently pointed it out to them.
