Poland: an amazing Aluron prevail over ZAKSA! Great Resovia is back to the top; two points for Bełchatów

PlusLiga officially has a new force! After a fierce fight in the big match of Round 3 of the 2022/23 Polish Volleyball Championship, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie inflicted the first defeat to Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, prevailing in four sets (25:18, 21:25, 25:22, 27:25).
The highly anticipated duel between the third team of the previous season and the Polish (and European) champions didn’t disappoint the volleyball fans’ expectations as this is a great show. However, against expectations, Aluron took their third victory in as many games, showing that they are definitely becoming a new force in the country, while ZAKSA suffered their first seasonal defeat.
The winners were led by the Serbian outside hitter Uroš Kovačević, who scored 24 points, while Łukasz Kaczmarek scored 21 for ZAKSA.

The Asseco Resovia Rzeszów fans haven’t had this view on the table for a long time. Their club, in fact, is to the top with a 3-0 score, and will stay there at least until the next round.
This season truly promises better days for the club, which won the national title seven times, but has failed to win a medal in recent times. Resovia lost the first set this season but defeat Ślepsk Malow Suwałki by 3-1 (27:29, 25:20, 25:13, 25:22) mostly thanks to an American international Torey DeFalco, who scored 19 points including 4 winning blocks. Serbian Miran Kujundžić tallied 17 on the losing side.

Close the picture a tie break victory of PGE Skra Bełchatów on the field of Stal Nysa (25:20, 25:20, 19:25, 21:25, 8:15).
