France: Nantes, Toulouse and Tours win advances of Round 4. First defeat for Saint Nazaire

First three matches of 2022/23 French Ligue A Round 4 were played today and two of them ended at tie break!

But this is not the case of Tours who, in front of their home fans, inflicted first seasonal defeat to newcomers Saint Nazaire (who remain to the top of the standings, at least, until tomorrow). The match ended in four sets, partially 20:25, 29:27, 25:15 and 25:14 and, after a great first sets and a very fought second, in which the hosts managed to tie the score, Saint Nazaire collapsed. Brazilian opposite Aboubacar Drame Neto was once again decisive on the winning side, scoring 25 points (57% in attack), ending the game as an absolute top scorer.

Another win for Nantes Rezé, who needed five sets to down Cambrai (20:25, 25:23, 17:25, 25:15, 15:13), and to reach, temporarily, second place in the standings. Tomas Lopez Pascual ended the game with 25 points, 2 aces and 61% in attack.
Tie break win, at home, also for Toulouse against Sète (22:25, 25:17, 25:18, 21:25, 15:11), led by Daniel Cagliari, author of 31 points, all in attack, and 69% (!!!) and Antoine Pothronx who also contributed with 21 (including 2 aces, 3 winning blocks and 57% in attack).
However, MVP awards went to setter Maximiliano Chirivino.
