Turkey: Galatasaray defeat Fenerbahçe in advance of Round 7

In advance of 2022/23 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi Round 7, Galatasaray HDI Sigorta needed four sets to defeat a so far disappointing Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta (25:22, 22:25, 25:20, 25:22) who sit at fifth place in the standings and suffered their second defeat.
In a match in which Fenerbahce coach Daniel Castellani tried to find the best line-up and balance with numerous changes, Galatasaray kept more calm and, led by Thomas Edgar, managed to finish the match in their favor earning the 3 points.
Galatasaray opposite was the top scorer of the match with 23 points (58% attack, 1 ace, 3 block), while Morteza Sharifi added 15 (41% attack, 4 block, 53% reception).
About Fenerbahce, the most prolific player was Pavle Peric, who entered the game in the middle of the 2nd set and put down 20 points as opposite (39% attack, 2 aces, 3 blocks).
Tomorrow, 4 games of the 6th round are scheduled, while on Sunday the round will end with the last two games and another big match, in which Arkas will host Ziraat Bankkart.
