France: round 8 – Narbonne defeat Sete at tie break. Three points for Nice and Saint Nazaire

Other three games of Ligue A 2022/23 Round 8 were played today.

Nice celebrated second win of the season, with a 1-3 success on the field of Plessis-Robinson (25:23, 22:25, 22:25, 21:25).
Nice literally blocked their rivals, scoring 15 points from this element (against 5 of the hosts), 5 from Gojko Çuk, while three players on the winning side share the title of top scorer, with 18 points: opposite Celestin Cardin, 57% in attack and 1 ace, and outside hitters François Rebeyrol (53% and 1 winning block) and captain Steven Marshall (56% in attack, 3 winning blocks and 1 ace).
Setter Javier Gonzalez was named MVP of the match. With this win, Nice climbed from last place to 12th, ahead Toulouse and Poitiers, but both sides will play tomorrow, on the field of Montpellier and Chaumont, respectively.

Narbonne needed five sets to defeat Sète in front of their home fans. Partially it was 21:25, 25:21, 25:21, 15:25 and 15:10. Willner Rivas ended the game as absolut top scorer with 31 points, 2 aces and 65% in attack and was, deservedly, named MVP of the match.

Close the picture a great Saint Nazaire, who join Tours to the second place in the current standings! Both sides have now 17 points, but Tours will play tomorrow at home, where will face Paris. Today they won in four sets on the field of Cambrai (24:26, 25:23, 20:25, 18:25), with 27 points from opposite Kyle Ensing, (62% in attack, 1 block and 1 ace), and 14 winning blocks, exactly twice as the rivals.
