France: 3 points for Paris, St. Nazaire, Chaumont, Montpellier, Nantes and Narbonne in last games of Round 10

After yesterday’s advance, in which Tours won in four sets on the field of Tourcoing, Round 10 of 2022/23 Ligue A has been completed today with the other six games.
Interestingly, all winning sides of this round claimed three points!

Saturday started with Paris who, after a home defeat against Narbonne on Monday, down Poitiers always in front of their home fans in only three sets: 25:16, 25:22 and 25:22. Joachim Panou ended the game as absolut top scorer with 20 points through 50% in attack, 3 winning blocks, 1 ace, as well as MVP award, while there were no players in double digit on the other side of the net.
Straight sets home win also for defending champions Montpellier, who inflicted seventh defeat in a row to a Cambrai (25:20, 25:23, 25:16) who remain to the bottom of the current charts with 7 points, only two wins and losses. Although the guests were better in blocking (8 vs. 3), Montpellier was absolutely better in decisive moments of the game. Marin Dukic (67% in attack and 1 ace) and captain Ezequiel Palacios (79% in attack and 4 aces, including the one that closed the game) were the top scorers on the winning side with 15 points each, while Theo Faure also contributed with 13. Hermans Egleskalns scored 16 times on the losing side.
Also Narbonne join the other two teams who today celebrated a straight sets home win, after a clear success over Nice (25:17, 25:15, 25:22) without major problems, ending the rivals’ winning streak made with 2 wins in a row.

Italian opposite Luca Vettori was named MVP of the game after his 19 points (62% in attack, 2 winning blocks and 1 ace), but the whole team played a good match in attack, ending with 63% of team performance. About Nice, captain Steven Marshall played a very good game with 14 points, 2 aces, 1 winning block and 58% in attack, but he wasn’t enough, as he was the only player on the losing side who ended the match in double digit.
Newcomers Saint Nazaire continued their excellent season with their seventh win in Ligue A, and they did it on the field of Plessis-Robinson (21:25, 21:25, 23:25) to confirm themselves at fourth place while Chaumont, after beating Sète by 3-1 (25:17, 21:25, 25:16, 25:19), regain first place in the standings led by a super Fabian Plak, who ended the game as top scorer among the winners with 17 points, 2 winning blocks, 2 aces and an impressive 87% in attack!
Close the picture another win also for Nantes Rezé, who defeat Toulouse with the same result (25:21, 25:23, 18:25, 25:21). Chizoba Neves Atu scored 23 points though 54% in attack and 2 aces for the winners, who celebrated their eighth seasonal win in ten games, as well as a well-deserved third place in the standings behind Chaumont and Tours.
