Italian Cup: Trento first semifinalist! Modena defeated in four sets!

Itas Trentino celebrated 14th Italian Cup Final Four (16th in club history), this year scheduled on 25-26 February in Rome’s PalaEur.

The guys around head coach Angelo Lorenzetti won in four sets on the field of Valsa Group Modena (25:17, 26:28, 22:25, 20:25) and will face, in semifinal, the winners of the match scheduled tomorrow between Civitanova and Milano.
Trento played a great game and, after a very difficult first set, the reaction, and a great second set ended overtime.
Once again, the man of the match was Bulgarian veteran (and captain) Matey Kaziyski, who ended the game with 22 points through 48% in attack, 1 block and two aces), deservedly named MVP, while a great Marko Podrascanin (5 blocks and 56% in attack), Michieletto decisive in key moments of the match (12 points) and Lavia with 13 also contributed to the final result.

A curiosity?
It’s since 2009 edition of the competition (defeated in quarterfinals against historic italian club Sisley Treviso) who they doesn’t fail to reach final four!
