France: Chaumont open Round 18 with a great win at tie break on the field of Narbonne

Round 18 of 2022/23 Ligue A started today with a great battle that found its solution only at tie break between Narbonne and Chaumont.
To celebrated are the visiting side, who struggled to enter the game, and they did it only in the middle of second sets, which they won overtime to level the score after a first set in which basically played only Narbonne. Partially it was 25:16, 26:28, 25:21, 23:25 and 11:15.
With this victory Chaumont, who put an end to the rivals’ winning streak consisting of three wins in a row (against Poitiers, Tours and Plessis-Robinson), regain (at least temporarily) the third place in the standings with the same number of points of Nantes (who will face Montpellier tomorrow), 37, and behind leaders Tours, 42, while Narbonne remain at sixth place.
Nathan Wounembaina was named MVP of the match for second time in a row (and, interestingly, he was awarded MVP also in first leg against the same rivals played in October). He ended the game with 20 points including 2 aces, 2 winning blocks and 59% in attack. About Narbonne, who suffered also the heavy absence of Wilner Rivas, replaced by Lersch (11 points, 1 ace, 4 blocks and 40% in attack), Jordi Ramon ended the game as top scorer with 21 points through 56% in attack and 1 ace.
